PSU Diagnostic Guide
If your system encounters issues and you want to rule out a PSU failure, you can perform this basic test to ensure the unit is functioning correctly.
- To ensure safety, please turn off the PSU and flip the I/O switch on the back panel to the "O" (OFF) position.
- Unplug the AC power cord from the PSU.
- Disconnect all internal cables from the PC components and peripherals.
- Plug the AC power cord back into the PSU. Ensure the cord is plugged directly into a wall outlet (avoid power strips, extension cords, or splitters for this test).
- Connect both the 18-pin and 10-pin connectors of the motherboard cable to the PSU side.
- Set the fan control switch to Normal Mode (S2FC). (In Hybrid or Fanless mode (S3FC), the fan will not spin, making it harder to verify operation).
- The Paper Clip Test: Using a paper clip or a jumper wire, bridge the specific pins on the 24-pin motherboard connector as shown in the illustration to jump-start the unit.
- PSU Tester: If your Super Flower PSU included a dedicated tester, plug it into the end of the 24-pin cable. It features a notch for secure alignment.
- Flip the I/O switch to the "I" (ON) position.
- Check the Fan: If the PSU fan starts spinning, the unit is likely functioning normally.
