What is the difference between ATX 3.0 and ATX 3.1 standards?

分享:

As PC hardware performance continues to advance, the power consumption of CPUs and GPUs has risen significantly. High-end graphics cards, in particular, often experience "peek power" during full-load operation that exceed their rated TDP (Thermal Design Power). These peek power can trigger a PSU's protection mechanisms, leading to sudden shutdowns or reboots.

To meet the increased power demands of next-gen hardware and enhance stability during instantaneous peak loads, Intel officially launched the ATX 3.0 standard in March 2022. This was further updated to ATX 3.1 in September 2023, ensuring the connection safety with design of longer pin and shorter sensor pin and providing even more refined power support and efficiency management.
